Catalytic Women partners with individuals and organizations to provide resources to women who influence wealth. Our events are unique opportunities to learn and connect with others. Our goal is to make it easy for women to leverage their financial and intellectual assets for the greater good.

With women owning the majority of wealth in the U.S. — 51% of stock and 60% of private wealth — there are so many fabulous topics on the different ways that women make financial decisions to fund social impact. Melanie Hamburger will be speaking at several upcoming conferences and broadcasts. Recent engagements include:

• XPX Summit 2013 (Exit Planning Exchange) on the Art and Science of Collaborative Innovation: Women's Wealth and Social Impact, May 3, outside Boston. This presentation was created for an audience of advisors to privately held businesses.
• 85 Broads Jam Session on Fear of Failure: Startups, Social Impact and Women, May 14 online. This presentation for women entrepreneurs and professionals focused on leveraging their unique intellectual and financial resources.
• Finding Your Voice through Philanthropy event sponsored by First Western Trust, Rose Community Foundation, and Women's Foundation of Colorado, May 16 in Denver. This presentation and panel facilitation highlighted the ways that one woman can make a powerful impact in her larger world through philanthropy and social enterprise.

Catalytic Women hosted Women Giving Under the Radar with the Center for Nonprofit and Public Leadership at UC Berkeley Haas School of Business, as a fall 2012 series of events to learn effective social impact in a woman-only setting. There is no shortage of topics or locations — for these, we addressed high impact investing and giving and women, film and philanthropy, generously hosted by Google and LinkedIn in Silicon Valley.

Looking for something easy that's online? 

• In our collaboration with Criterion Institute, we host their monthly webinars providing a newcomer's overview of gender lens investing, a topic of great interest to our audience and members.
• Bell Investment Advisors has launched a woman-focused client program, The Women's Roundtable, using content from Catalytic Women. See an example of a quarterly program that we create and present for their clients.
• We also invite nonprofits to speak on their highly effective models for impact, as part of a Strategies & Solutions panel discussion on the challenges and successes in a particular issue area. See examples among our upcoming events.

Interested in creating programs and communications for your current clients and prospects who are women? No problem! Catalytic Women's vast resources on women's wealth and social impact gives us a breath of information to tailor to your unique needs.

For one client firm, we helped them launch a proprietary, branded program honoring the role their women clients are taking in influencing decisions around family wealth. In this case, Catalytic Women created blogs and webinars for Bell Investment Advisors to host a brand new women-focused program: The Women's Roundtable. Other topics include:

• Starting Small: making an impact at any level of giving (and a great way to engage children in giving back) supporting
• Focused Philanthropy: creating a giving strategy and a plan, to be clear on "Yes" and firm, yet kind, with "No” (the latter can be particularly difficult for women)

• Finding and Funding Local Issues: learning about needs in the local community, and how to find nonprofits doing the best work
• Issue-focused Giving: learning about nonprofits in a focus area, cross- regionally, to be strategic globally in making your impact

In April 2012, Catalytic Women members had a real treat: an intimate conversation with expert Kirby Rosplock, who spoke on the global economic power of women at the Wendi Norris Gallery.

As the Director of Research and Development in the Innovation and Learning Center of GenSpring Family Offices, and a director of her family's fourth-generation, traditionally male business, she led a dynamic and engaged conversation about our influence as women in the world around us.
