Unique Gatherings for Women Leaders

Catalytic Women curates innovations and best practices in philanthropy. We convene emerging markets of women donors: women working in technology, women advisors in wealth management, and women leading family giving.

By sharing best practices in philanthropy—through salon-style discussions and online forums—catalytic women have the ability to shape the most effective models for community change.

Programs for Women

A 2010 study from the Boston Consulting Group confirms what many of us know: women control a significant amount of assets, yet are not receiving the kind of specialized services we desire. Philanthropy is one area that reflects the long-term relationship building that women seek. Catalytic Women offers programs designed specifically for women philanthropists. <more>

Programs for Catalytic Women include: 

• Monthly speaking programs. Launched in 2011 in the San Francisco Bay Area, Catalytic Women forums are salon-styled, highly interactive dialogues with leaders in philanthropy. In 2012 Catalytic Women monthly forums will expand to Boston and Los Angeles and, soon after, nationwide.
• Extensive online library on giving. Access reference materials on best practices, national media, publications, philanthropic resources, global giving trends, and transcripts and podcasts from previous Catalytic Women programs.
• Online forums and robust discussions. Share with experts and other members in a confidential online forum your questions, suggestions and best practices on giving, philanthropy and impact. Topics include: getting started, effective giving, measuring impact, defining goals, engaging children, research and trends, selecting a focus area, impact investing and venture philanthropy, and conferences and workshops.
• Philanthropic consulting. Let us guide you on any issue of philanthropic interest, including research on issues or organizations, recommendations for family giving, guidance on roles and goals for a family foundation, or any other philanthropic topic of importance to you. Five hours of consulting advice is provided each year as part of membership in Catalytic Women. <more>

Membership in Catalytic Women

Membership in Catalytic Women is open to all women, regardless of how much you give or what causes you support. Our goal is to make effective philanthropy easy and accessible—by learning from experts, sharing best practices, and finding the most useful resources.

Members of Catalytic Women can: attend any monthly forum, with a guest; access the members-only online library of philanthropic resources; exchange ideas with peers and experts in confidential online forums; and receive five hours of complimentary consulting advice on the philanthropic project of your choice. Annual memberships in Catalytic Women are offered in two levels of participation: $1,500 and $350. <more>
